Kristina is a longtime author friend of my critique partner, Elisabeth Naughton, and I first met Kristina at the RWA conference in San Francisco. As a prior PR director, she’s always brimming with knowledge and ideas and she’s always willing to share them and help out another author.
Kristina writes women’s fiction. Her debut novel, LETTERS FROM HOME, is a WWII love story inspired by her grandparents’ courtship. It has garnered more than a dozen national literary awards, will be featured in a Select Editions Volume from Reader’s Digest, and is a Doubleday Book Club selection. The film rights are represented by the renowned Creative Artists Agency (CAA) of Los Angeles.

Book Summary:
Chicago, 1944. Liz Stephens has little interest in attending a USO club dance with her friends Betty and Julia. She doesn’t need a flirtation with a lonely serviceman when she’s set to marry her childhood sweetheart. Yet something happens the moment Liz glimpses Morgan McClain. They share only a brief conversation – cut short by the soldier’s evident interest in Betty – but Liz can’t forget him. Thus, when Betty asks her to ghostwrite a letter to Morgan, stationed overseas, Liz reluctantly agrees.
Thousands of miles away, Morgan struggles to adjust to the brutality of war. His letters from “Betty” are a comfort, their soul-baring correspondence a revelation to them both. While Liz is torn by her feelings for a man who doesn’t know her true identity, Betty and Julia each become immersed in their own romantic entanglements. Kristina just completed her second novel, BRIDGE OF SCARLET LEAVES, which is a very unique love story, again set during WWII and will release in February 2012.
